The short version: we collect as close to nothing as a paid product can.
What we store, and where
- Your game progress(transcripts, streaks, results) lives in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and we can't see it.
- Cookies: we set two kinds, both strictly functional — a signed counter that enforces the daily question budget, and (if you join the Club) a signed membership pass. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. We keep only your Stripe customer reference so we can check a subscription is active.
- Your email, only if you ask for the daily case reminder — stored with our email provider (SendGrid) and used for nothing else. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, or write to us and we'll delete it.
- Analytics: privacy-friendly, cookie-free page analytics (Vercel Analytics) — aggregate counts, no personal profiles.
- Interrogation questionsare sent to Anthropic's API to generate the suspect's reply. Don't type personal information at fictional suspects; they're not equipped for it.
